My Theme Park Tycoon 2 Buildlog - July 2024

Time to get started on the wolf props and then submit them to TPT2 Workshop!

Wait, here's the correctly colored head.

I first build with distinctive, bright colors so I can build more efficiently at night. (Thank goodness for the paint tool) The head was easy, the torso easy, but for the forelegs?

Putting together primitives to form "seamless" transitions and manipulating them was really tedious, especially when they're the same or similar color. I had to clobber multiple parts together to almost get the effect and manipulate individual parts slightly to get what I wanted, plus constantly ungroup and regroup primitives.

I was starting the hind legs when...

WAIT, a size limit?

A SIZE LIMIT?!?!?!

Welp, that ruined my plan for the wolf prop and probably the Sonic one. If a gamepass was released for increased item limits, I would eagerly buy it (I still have over 8,500 Robux left). To cope, I started building teddy animals.

This gives me an idea... Why don't I build a Chao Garden, complete with Chao props? That'll be a winner in the Workshop! Well, see you in two weeks. (I'm going on a weeklong vacation to Washington D.C. and New York City starting on August 1.)

First, I began working on the shack's counter.

Reference images for shack (I may be moving from just "tropical"):

I was browsing Theme Park Tycoon 2 Workshop for inspiration, when I came across the Panda Asset Pack. It looks so cartoony yet was accepted... Hmmm... I can make a stylized prop of an animal. (I can't draw realism in the first place for God's sake) How about my favorite animal, wolf?!

I worked on trying to strike a balance between cartoony yet appealing and semi-realistic, with those large black beady eyes because why not?

Reference images I used for wolf prop:

(Drawing the essence of the anatomy actually was satisfying and fun, especially in poses that I imagined.)

Okay, I didn't get to spend time on the prop itself (I haven't even started!), because I'm required to practice coding daily by my father and tried to finish my Blurjack game (play it here). Also, I get sluggish late at night.

There is no update today, as I took this time to work on an upcoming web comic book (my father decided to give me 2 days to work on it, with today as the first day).

I was progressing more on my Sonic prop, when I realized the problem of not having elipsoid primitives that are scalable as cuboids, which prevented me from easily moving onto the cuffs, hands, and shoes. I suggested this to Den_S and he said that it was taken into consideration.

(The legs were made thinner after this screenshot was thinner to accompany the big shoe size. Way to go, cartoon anatomy.)

I also drew more concept art for the Sonic prop, while bawling my eyes out about how even after all these years of drawing, I still can't get probably important things right.

I came across this awesome build today of likely a part of mid-20th century-esque San Francisco. I want to incorporate more architectual intricity into my builds.

While pondering how to progress on the Sonic prop with current items (I really want to appear on the Theme Park Tycoon 2 Workshop), I got started on this tropical Sonic-themed shack for the end of the ride so that visitors can stop littering the long path of nothing. (Also, server's a millionaire's club!)

(This buildlog was updated early so I can commit to this Suno [the same music AI that I set my song lyrics to] study that will reward me $75 once completed. I was the few lucky ones to picked!)
